- John Platter South African Wine guide, most formidable and trusted wine guide and companion
DeMorgenzon’s world-renowned Reserve Chenin Blanc was today awarded its 5th Platter’s Guide 5-Star award for the 2019 vintage.
100% grown made and bottled on DeMorgenzon, the wine was crafted from our Old Vine Project (OVP) certified 48 year old vines in combination with a selection from our premium, south-east facing vineyards.
Since our first 5-Star maiden vintage in 2005, this accolade affirms our commitment to producing world class wines and Chenin Blanc’s distinguished provenance at DeMorgenzon.
Almost a decade ago the 2011 and 2012 vintages were included in the Wine Enthusiast’s and Wine Spectator’s Top 100 wines.
The 2015, 2016 and 2017 vintages were bestowed The International Chenin Blanc Trophy, with the 2016 vintage taking home the International Wine and Spirits Challenge Trophy.
On the heels of a 96 point rating for the 2018 vintage in Tim Atkin’s South African Report, the 2019 Reserve Chenin Blanc recorded our 6th consecutive placement at the annual Standard Bank Chenin Blanc Awards earlier this year. This latest accolade confirms its position amongst the finest Chenin Blancs in the Cape.
